Business: BTEC Level 3 Diploma

Course outline
This is a one year course. You will have successfully completed an Extended Certificate in Business prior to commencing this course. The Diploma will provide a second A Level equivalent in addition to the Extended Certificate element.
 
Course Content
You will complete four units within the year.
These consist of a range of optional units:
• Managing an event 
• International Business
• Principles of management
• Work experience


Teaching styles
This course really focuses on the vocational aspects of Business so you will find a lot of teaching is based on case studies, application to a variety of different businesses, visiting speakers, role plays and visits to industry. You will also be expected to undertake a two week work experience placement.

 

Assessment
Students will be assessed by a portfolio assignment for each unit.
All portfolio work is subject to both internal and external verification by the exam board. (Pearson)
Successful completion of all 4 units is required.

Progression
BTECs earn you UCAS points and are therefore valued by universities allowing you to take on HND/HNC, foundation degree course or honours degree. Students can go in to a wide range of employment, including retail, finance, HR and marketing.
 
Provisional entry requirements
