Summer Results - Congratulations To Our Students!

2016 sees a rise in achievement of the highest grades, helping students on their way to places in Higher Education.

It has been another brilliant year for students at Regent College in their Advanced Level courses.  14 different subjects recorded 100% pass rates this year and there were some strong individual performances, with students this year achieving almost double the percentage of the top A* grades compared to a year ago.  There has also been a big increase in Distinction* and Distinction grades awarded for Advanced Level Btecs. Students following our growing suite of vocational ‘triple award’ A’ Levels also performed particularly well this year, with a very high proportion awarded Distinction* and Distinction outcomes.

In fact, on final year Advanced Level courses over 40% were awarded at either A*/A, or the top Distinction* and Distinction grades, representing a remarkable effort from the students.  That is a best ever set of outcomes in Advanced Level courses and those studnets will now be in a position to take up offers on degree level courses at universities around the country as a result.

Our students have really deserved the successes they have achieved, especially after at least two years of really hard work. We are delighted for the individual students involved, but also for their families and teachers who have supported and encouraged them along the way.  It is especially pleasing to see a group of young people who have worked so hard getting their rewards and celebrating on results day.

A record number made applications to universities this year and the college opened our doors early to give our students the opportunity to collect their results and to follow up their applications in order to confirm their places. As always, there is also support on hand within college for any students who are uncertain about their options and choices.

AS level students are also collecting the results from their first year of Advanced Level study and there were also some fantastic results with this group of students also gaining more of the top grades than in previous years.  They can be rightly proud of their progress so far and we look forward to welcoming these students back to college to complete their courses in the coming year.
